- Through “Finder“, open the Boot camp. Go to “Applications,” “Utilities” and click on the program to open it.
- You will need to create a new partition for Windows 7. Use the default settings or adjust the size of the partition as you like. To create a new partition on your current hard drive, you must have enough free space.
- When the partitioning is complete, insert the Windows 7 installation disc and to proceed, click “Start Installation“. Your machine will then restart.
- When the Windows 7 installation process has finished loading, select the new partition that you just created. From near the lower right-hand corner of the screen, choose the Format option. This is because the partition should first be formatted before you install Windows 7. Make sure that you do not format any other partition or your data will all be lost. To confirm the formatting, click “OK” and the Windows 7 installation process will begin.
- Follow the on screen prompts and your computer will restart. Upon restart, you will have to set the language, keyboard layout etc. After choosing those, Windows installation is complete and the OS will appear.
